For your auction consideration I have this beautiful antique evening bag
with a sterling silver frame.
The bag
dates to
about 1899-1905.
The
sterling silver frame features Cherubs at play and is the same on both sides. Although not marked for silver the frame was tested 2 different ways to confirm the sterling. It was tested on an XRF Analyzer as well as acid tested. Both proved positive for
sterling
. The chain is a floral design and is quite lovely as well. Fabric appears to be a black moire (I’m definitely not a fabric expert). A press of the button on top opens the bag where you will find 2 small pockets.
Considering the age I think it’s in great condition with one minor thing to note; there is some sort of silver threading on the top edges of the interior pockets and this threading is coming off. Otherwise I don’t see any rips or tears on the interior and the exterior fabric appears to be free of any problems that I can see.
